Hello!
I am glad you came to my page, and I am very happy to be writing for Suite101.com! My articles focus on a variety of topics - from writing a thesis to planning a picnic. I have experience writing on scientific and health issues, but I also love incorporating my interest in food and fun into the articles I write, so everything is fair game. Feel free to request an article on a particular topic if you would like me to write something on it.
I just started a blog at WordPress.com - check it out for articles, links, videos, recipes, and news based on pregnancy, human development, nutrition, and more!
I was previously a writer for an online academic, peer-reviewed encyclopedia called the Embryo Project. Most of my work there has focused on the history of Catholic thought on human development and abortion, new stem cell technologies, key contributors to embryology, and ethics regarding beginning-of-life issues. My research for my MS degree in Biology and Society at Arizona State University and for my other writing largely centered around pregnancy, fertility, and prenatal care. Following my masters degree, I worked for several years in a variety of maternal and child health programs for various health departments in Arizona. Currently, I do contract work on Elance.com and for private clients while pursuing a PhD in Health Services Management at Ohio State University. I am also a Certified Health Education Specialist.
Please enjoy reading my articles on Suite101. Tell me what you think, and happy browsing!
Katie :)
